Santo Domingo.- The president of the Young Business Association (ANJE), Manuel Cabral, says that president Danilo Medina’s speech was a call to the Dominican people to join forces with the great initiatives he is planning, and described it as positive.
“It was a positive sppech, in which he dealt with the social aspects, a change in the government strategy and the initiatives that he is going to take, making a great emphasis on integration, for closing the gaps in inequality and promoting important plans”, he said.
Nonetheless, Cabral said that Medina had omitted some points, especially when it came to economic issues like the large fiscal deficit, and he did not say whether an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was on the cards.
He said that Medina had mentioned comprehensive fiscal reform, but did not go into any detail of how he was going to finance those grand plans of his.
