Santo Domingo.- The Specialized Port Security Corps (CESEP) and the Dominican Ports Authority (Apordom) have awarded the Sans Soucí Ports with certificates confirming that their Don Diego and Santo Domingo terminals comply with the code for Protection of Vessels and Port Installations (PBIP).
Sans Soucí also renewed its certification during the past year, covering all the terminals that make up the Port of Santo Domingo. This guarantee, which is standardized at both local and international levels, is valid for five years.
During the certificate awards ceremony, CESEP director Rear Admiral Luis Lee Ballester said that the audits conducted in Sans Soucí – Port of Santo Domingo had concluded in a satisfactory manner with an evaluation of the vulnerability of its processes and procedures in accordance with the safety protection and implementation plan and protection of cargo and passenger ships.
He made a special mention of staff training at the Port of Santo Domingo and the low rate of incidents that occur in its installations. Ballester said that considering its volume of traffic, the rate is practically zero. Ramón Rivas, director of Apordom, says that their portfolio of services is strengthened by these international standards.
