Santo Domingo.- India Foreign Affairs secretary Madhusudan Ganapathy will be visiting Dominican Republic in September, as part of a policy that seeks to bolster his country's ties with Latin America.

Ganapathy’s official visit to several Central America and Caribbean countries starts in Dominican Republic is expected to further strengthen the friendship and cooperation with the Economic Community of Latin American and Caribbean Countries (CELAC) member states.

Foreign minister Carlos Morales announced the visit after meeting with India Foreign Ministry’s Assistant secretary for Latin America, Dammu Ravi, and Indian ambassador Deepak Bhojwani Kishinchand.

During the meeting in Morales’s office, the officials reviewed the items on the bilateral agenda, including the importance of formalizing the India-Dominican Republic agreements which have been under negotiations.
