National Business Council taps new board

Santo Domingo.- The National Business Council (CONEP) on Wednesday inducted its new Board of Directors for the 2015-2017 period, headed by Rafael Blanco Canto, who stressed his commitment to continue advancing CONEP’s activities.

"Everything created and developed over these years will be the grand platform that will underpin the actions which we’ll promote," Blanco said and the basis for the work plan of the business elite in the near term.

He cited several key development projects such as the social security system, the electricity agreement, the adequate investment of the 4% allocation for education, reduce poverty, labor reform, the passing of a law on political parties, the definition a mining policy and strengthening the Lands Jurisdiction.

Outgoing

Outgoing CONEP president Manuel Diez Cabral said his 2-year tenure managed to implement a renewed and stronger organization “inside out, launching the new internal structure and seeking to solidify the new corporate identity plans."
