Santo Domingo.- The telephone company Claro-Codetel and the Telecom Agency Indotel revealed last night, in separate statements, that an accidental failure in an fiber optical matrix along the Duarte highway, partially affected voice communications.

Many customers yesterday complained to Claro-Codetel, which informed that heavy equipment working in the area between its switching stations in downtown Santo Domingo, and the central town, Bonao accidentally severed the cable, noting that the service began to be restored before 6 p.m. and that it kept Indotel informed on the advance of the repair work.

Indotel said that it’s “carrying out its inspection power” to investigate the causes of the damages.

@WalterPolo
Don't hold your breath. :)

My internet went out while they were working on the equipment in the area for about 1.5 months. No refund, and if I tried canceling they would just bill my credit card the cancellation fee. They are quite happy to take the money with out actually providing service.
