Bizarre case of incest ends in murder

SANTIAGO.- The most bizarre case of incest in Dominican Republic’s recent history has ended in murder, as Police announced charges against the husband and the daughter of Luz Maria Rodriguez Medina, 64, found shot to death in northwestern Dajabón Province.

It said the victim was found dead near Arenoso River of several bullet wounds 2:30pm Sunday, and arrested her husband Jose Ramon Lopez, 63, in his residence in the town Loma de Cabrera.

Medina’s murder, Police investigators said was perpetrated in that residence and her body later taken to the site with the help of Lopez’s daughter, Gaudi, 26, who confessed to being an accomplice by ridding the house of her mother’s blood-stained garments.

She claims however that she was forced to help her father under death threats, and that he sexually abused her since the age of 18

The victim’s daughter added that when her mother uncovered the relation and protested, her father shot her.
