Court slaps liens on properties of ex President’s close collaborator: Diario Libre

Santo Domingo.- The Justice Ministry has placed numerous real estate properties owned by the company Inmobiliaria Rofi, S.R.L, of which senator Félix Bautista is a shareholder and also involves third party buyers, outlet diariolibre.com reports Wed.

Among the properties with liens registered at the request of Justice minister Francisco Domínguez figure apartments, villas in the resort Casa de Campo, houses, lots and asphalt plants, as part of an investigation by the Justice Ministry’s Anticorruption Unit against the lawmaker, a close collaborator of former president Leonel Fernandez.

The outlet reports that the liens were placed on the properties in the National District, Santo Domingo, Santiago, San Pedro and Nagua provinces. The goods include 40 buildings of eight apartments each, a tower of 16 levels and another 14.

The list exceeds 100 real properties in various parts of the country.

The also Senator for San Juan province has filed a request to recover the properties before the Supreme Court, through his lawyer Juan Antonio Delgado.

The attorney asked the court to lift the liens, calling them, "illegal or unconstitutional against many homes owned by the real estate company Rofi, S.R.L."
