Overseer says pact ends resort town’s electricity crisis

Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic.- The government’s Electricity Superintendence on Friday announced the settlement of the crisis over the electricity at Las Terrenas, northeastern Samana province, where the protests claimed the lives of one policeman and one civilian.

In a statement, the Superintendence said it reached an agreement with various entities of the province to make it easy to interconnection with Las Terrenas’ isolated electricity grid, through the National Interconnected Energy System (SENI).

The agency urges customers to pay the light bill in the offices of the power company Luz Y Fuerza, the recognized concessionary, adding that anyone who had paid their bill in another agency, it will be recognized and validated.
