Study finds 36% of Haitian descents have no Dominican documents

Santo Domingo.- Over 36% of young descendants of immigrants, mainly Haitians, do not have Dominican identity documents, according to the study "Characteristics and comparative analysis of immigrant youth and of immigrant origin in the Dominican Republic".

The study by researcher Luis Vargas was sponsored by the sociodemographic studies program of the Santo Domingo Technology Institute (INTEC) and the UN Population Fund (UNFPA).

The findings were obtained from the analysis of data from the national survey of immigrants (ENI) 2012.
