Water levels rise in almost all dams due to rainfalls

Santo Domingo.- Dams agency’s (INDRHI) director Olgo Fernandez reported that almost all dams nationwide increased their water levels, which contributes to improving the water supply for agricultural irrigation and electricity generation, after the seasonal drought that affected the country in the last few months.

Among the dams that have benefited the most are Lopez-Angostura, Contra Embalse de Moncion, Jimenoa, Rio Blanco, Valdesia, Aguacate, Sabaneta, Las Barias and Sabana Yegua. The head of the INDRHI added that added that rains in several regions of the country helped increased the water levels of these dams.

He also noted that according to weather reports, the upcoming rainfall would help keep the volume of the dams.
