X-ray glitch delays incoming passengers Las Americas Airport: Hoy

Santo Domingo.- A glitch in the X-ray machines Customs inspectors use to check incoming passenger luggage is causing considerable delays in their work and have slowed the flow of passengers through terminal B at Las Americas Airport, hoy.com.do reports.

Adding to the woes is the slow verification by airline staff at the various ticketing areas when tagging travelers’ luggage, prompting protests by people who often wait as long as an hour at the corridors near Customs.

“Customs officials at Las Americas airport who asked not to reveal their names said the X-ray machines have been damaged around four days and are waiting for the (Customs) agency technicians for repairs every day,” hoy.com.do reports.
