5,425 people displaced by rains, 1,081 houses affected: COE

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) announced that the recent rains have displaced 5,425 people and affected 1,085 homes, keeping 18 provinces under alert.

The COE also said that heavy rains completely destroyed four houses, affected five bridges and keep 21 communities isolated.

Due to the weather conditions, the provinces under yellow alert are La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, Monte Plata, Hato Mayor, La Romana, La Altagracia, El Seibo, San Cristobal, San Pedro de Macoris, Sanchez Ramirez and San Juan de la Maguana.

Meanwhile, the provinces of Santiago, Espaillat, Duarte, Santiago Rodriguez, Dajabón, Montecristi and Santo Domingo are under green alert.
