Dominican president congratulates workers on Labor Day

Santo Domingo.- On the occasion of Labor Day, President Danilo Medina and candidate for the same post by the ruling Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), 14 political organizations and over 600 movements, congratulated Dominican workers and promised that if elected president again, he would continue his efforts to develop projects that generate more than 400,000 new jobs.

In his speech Medina highlighted the contribution made by the working class to the creation of wealth, and therefore to the country’s economic development, which he said it will continue to grow at a steady pace of about 7.0%.

During the event, held at the Jaragua hotel and sponsored by the "Cultura con Danilo" movement, the head of state thanked the support shown by workers of the culture sector who attended the ceremony as well as those who were outside the room.
