chompira "Too bad the only real talent there will be Fernandito"
Oh there a few more there that got some talent.
I will give you a pass if you are not Dominican or are not familiar with our culture. You see we consider Ramon Orlando the son of Cuco Valoy a master in his own genre. Also Kinito and Pochi two great that took Merengue out of the dark age in the 90's with the Cocoband.
Puntacanamike "I do not see anyone on that list considered to be a "rock" band."
I think the translator just made an honest mistake. I think he meant the top band in the country.
This show is in the MALECON is called "EL FESTIVAL DEL MERENGUE" and it is done yearly for three straight day. It is a long tradition where the best musician in the country and many invited from abroad to show to the Dominicans people their talents. It is the most popular in the country. This year there have been controversy as most MERENGUERO boycotted. Even though it is called "festival del merengue" most of the one invited this year happen to be "Reguetoneros and bachatero."
"I do not see anyone on that list considered to be a "rock" band."
That's because Dominicans can't sing or play rock. Hence there are no, and have never been any, world-class Dominican rock bands.
