Two massive ships visit Dominican Republic´s newest cruise port

Puerto Plata, DominicanRepublic.- Amber Cove tourist terminal on Tuesday morning received two colossaltransatlantic cruise ships that brought nearly 6,000 passengers and 2,330 crew toMaimon Bay Puerto Plata.

The first ship toarrive, the Carnival Splendor brought around 3,000 tourists and 150 crewmembers, while the second, Carnival Valor carries around 2,980 passengers and 180crew.

Both cruises departedSunday from the ports of Charleston and Miami, and will stay at Amber Cove around8 hours, according to Tourism Deputy minister Julio Almonte.

Since early Tuesdayhundreds of Dominican law enforcement agents were deployed around the areas wherethe cruise passengers visit, to ensure safety and prevent incidents near AmberCove, which receives two ships at once for the first time since inaugurated lastweek.
