Work on Carnival cruise terminal continues at quick pace

Puerto Plata.- Work on the north coast’s first cruise ship terminal advances at a rapid pace, being built by Carnival Cruises at a cost of US$65 million, to receive thousands of passengers.

Carnival’s Amber Cove Cruise Port in Maimon, close Puerto Plata, is slated for completion as soon as October, when Carnival plans to inaugurate the modern facility with a first ship bringing more than 2,000 visitors aboard the ‘Carnival Victory.’

Carnival plans to transport around 100,000 cruise passengers to Puerto Plata from October 2015 to April 2016 with 37 ports-of-call at the new terminal, expected to boost the economy of the entire region.
