Dominican capital’s financial district gets ritzier

Santo Domingo.- The Hotel Real Intercontinental SantoDomingo, the eighth InterContinental hotel brand of Real Hotels & Resorts,will formally open its doors today Wednesday.

The property on ??32,000 square meters on Churchill Av. andHerrera St. in the upscale sector of Piantini has 227 rooms in its modern 21-storytower and four below-ground levels with 229 parking spaces.

"For our hotel group is of great satisfaction toofficially open the Real Hotel Intercontinental Santo Domingo hotel featuringDominicans a distinctive and innovative proposal, with all the standards of theIntercontinental brand," Hotel general manager Sebastián González said ina statement.

He said among the attractions offered by the RealIntercontinental Santo Domingo is its innovative gastronomic center, located inthe hotel lobby, with direct input from Winston Churchill Avenue, which is home to severalmajor banks, including Reservas, Citi,Progreso and BHD Leon.
