@ Danny,KISKEYAMAN and The-haitian.

Most of the Dominicans in the US ARE LEGAL OR ENTERED LEGALLY.

More than 95% of haitians in the DR ARE ILLEGALS OR ENTERED ILLEGALLY ...

...And for the record,I'm being CONSERVATIVE ABOUT THE 95%,it should be higher than that!

Lol I'm so proud to be Dominican.

Not only do we have AntiDominicans/Haters coming on a DOMINICAN website but we have them CREATING accounts to degrade the DR any way they can.

Like they say, in order to succeed you need haters, and to get haters you have to succeed LOL

You're full of shit you dumb stupid haitian CUNT . YES we have poverty, crimes and corruption mainly because our politicians are pathetic just like most haitians are>> PATHETIC. Second: Just because our country has issue and people migrate out of it doesn't mean that we shouldn't be proud of DR. We're all not very but super proud of DR. unlike you mud eaters . You disrespect your own pathetic people and complain about the never ending issues in Haiti (all the time) but ever do shit for your own shit country.

What we have to understand first is that most Haitians hate DR with a passion because it represents defeat to them as they lost control of almost the entire island during the wars of the mid 1800s. We move forward every day that passes by and they move backwards. Yes DR has many problems, but there is no denying that advancements have been constant through the last 150 years. We are not a rich country but I go there twice a year or more and every time I get of that plane there is a feeling that I cannot describe, been home where my roots are.
Don’t hate, in this world the strongest and most determined thrive; you do the math brothers…

Most of the cons being spammed across topics by haters on this website simply regard what EVERY country is going through. Is it a surprise that there is prostitution, crime, and corruption in DR? Just as there is in every country.

I have NO CLUE what terrible experience the haters on this website went through with Dominicans but DAMN don't take it down on everyone else who has any regards with Dominicans in General.

I've visited this website for about almost two years and have always seem to have stumbled upon posts from the same typical people stating negative things.

Well whatever the reason is, and whatever jealousy or hate comes to throw at the DR, it just basically means the DR is doing something right.

All of your statements are complete bullshit, they have no reliable source just a pile of made up horse shit. If you really came to DR before you wouldn't be talking all the shit you both mentioned .

The main reason on why you both come here is because you hate the fact that we're better then you, smarter and have a stronger will to make DR a better country.

About the nice beach houses who said we weren't allowed to buy them? , offcourse we are, but you don't see a lot of Dominicans buying them because not many of us can't afford expensive houses.

actually, outside of the respective countries, nobody gives a rat´s ass about either music. the only people who care about Haitian music are the Haitian expats in , say, France and New York. the same goes for bachata, and merengue. apart from the Dominican community in the dispora, there is no following for those styles. it is not as if they were salsa, or reggae.

just the royalties from the sale of Bob Marley records exceeds the entire revenue stream of all bachata and merengue artists, put together. as i said, a primate like you does not even have a clue about something like jazz. you went to google to look up Dominican jazz players, and ran across the name of the pianist Michel Camilo. i know this, because you cannot even spell his name right. maybe you can´t even spell your own name. come to think of it. even if reggae is dead, as you like to think, if i go into a crowded place and say SEAN PAUL, people will ask ¨ where?¨ if i say ANTONY SANTOS, they will ask ¨who?¨.

Then there's the LATIN BILLBOARD AWARDS.

far more influential to YOU, and people like you. it sure is not more influential to me than Bob Marley, or any of the reggae greats. it was a great song, but i much prefer Many Rivers To Cross, by Jimmy Cliff. when tunbagobierno can tell me a Dominican song which is as highly regarded, and performed by as many great artists as that song has been, i will give him credit for something. when reggae bands were using multiple synthesisers, and making major hits, merengue was still being played by guys with an accordion and a grater.

He was the one that put reggae on the map,and of course the fact that he was singing in English helped as well.

The fact of the matter is when Bob Marley died he took reggae with him!

Juan Luis Guerra gets my respect, but he will NEVER be Bob Marley, if he lives to be 100. Aventura is a mediocre band that cannot compare to any serious reggae band, now, or in the past. heck, they stil sing through vocorders, which Zapp and Roger Troutmann gave up in the 1980s. i guess they are late to the party, and have not gotten the news that vocorders are passe. the fact that you like them is further evidence that they are a mediocrity.

it is better to haveloved and lost
than never have loved at all

transpose that to reggae, and we can say that it is better to have been a champion on the way down, than the guy who sweeps up the floor in the gym when the real athletes are gone home. yes, we all know that Bob Marley has passed away, but he is still far greater today, than Juan Luis Guerra will ever be. i say that with respect to Guerra, because i do like the guy. bleat on all you like....Marley is still the greatest to ever come out of this part of the world, and will remain so. that cannot change, not even if some primitive like you disagrees. and, Aventura is still a mediocrity. besides, if reggae is dead, why is it that your aspiring reggaeton artists have to copy all their cues from it? can´t they think of anything original?

as i said, Juan Luis Guerra is a guy whose music i like. i have several of his recordings. on the other hand, Aventura is elevator music. any music school kids can do just as well. by the way, can any of them actually PLAY an instrument? there are songs which, the moment you hear them, you know that they are great. you have to know the title, and who performed it. i have never heard anything by Aventura that i care to hear a second time. on the other hand, i had to find out who sang ¨yo no tengo amigo, yo tengo socio¨.as you know, it is by El Sujeto. i love it. i bought it.

why would the jamaican government ban Haitian music? it has the same African roots as Jamaican music, and Jamaicans are not ashamed of their African component.
