Medina to visit China’s Xi this year

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina will travel to China this year, the Dominican leader’s  first official visit to the Asian nation, Fu Xinrong, China’s Chargé d’Affaires in the country, announced Thurs.

The official said, a series of cooperation agreements would be signed during the visit to president Xi Jinping, including China’s desire to help expand land transport with railways or new metro lines, solid waste management, improvement and construction of ports, as well as the installation of factories and tourism infrastructure.

The senior Chinese official listed broad areas where the Dominican Republic can benefit from ties with that Asian giant.
