Another Dominican company hops on solar energy train

Santo Domingo.- Dominican companies continue to wager on energy solar as the competitiveness factor which spurred Casa Celestino Genao, founded 48 years ago, to opt for a change that will cut its electric bill by 66%.

The company located in the Katanga sector, of Santo Domingo Este started by installing 150 leading edge technology solar panels to supply energy for its operations and reduce its conventional electricity bill an average as high as RD$120,000, for a net saving of RD$80,000 per month.

In a statement, business leader  Antonio Celestino Genao, who started with a mom-and-pop store in 1970, today converted into a provisions wholesaler, could cut annual expenses by as much as RD$1.0 million under current consumption figures.
