Presidency hopeful says he’s worth only US$340,000

Santo Domingo.- Presidential candidacy hopeful for Dominican Republic’s ruling party (PLD), Francisco Dominguez, on Mon. submitted his financial statement before the Accounts Chamber, after resigning as Environment Minister.

In the statement, the official declares RD$17.0 million (US$340,000) in assets.

“Today I present my statement to show that I am in political activity to serve with integrity and transparency,” he said, noting that it complies with the Law.

“The day we assume the Presidency and finalize our exercise, we can present a declaration without accumulations of unjustifiable and new wealth, which is the best way to honor Juan Bosch, founder of our party and example to follow,” Dominguez said.
