Judge: Major League Baseball games will air in Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.-The National District Court of Appeals overturned  a lower court ruling that had temporarily suspended the broadcast  of major league games in the Dominican Republic, for which the CDN network will air them from now on.

In a statement, Major League Baseball (MLB) praised the court’s decision and said it remains committed to its partners Altice and CDN, and warns that “if Telemicro submits any additional claim without merit, we will continue fighting for our fans’ right to see the MLB games on open television in the Dominican Republic.”

The MLB statement quoted by El Dia:

“On this day we were notified that the Presiding Judge in charge of the National District Court of Appeals in the Dominican Republic, overturned the decision of a lower court that had temporarily suspended the transmission of Major League games in the Dominican Republic.

“In light of this new decision, the broadcast of MLB games in the country will be resumed. We fully agree with the judge’s decision today, which returns the action of Major League Baseball to open television and the Extra Innings package in the Dominican Republic.

“With so many great baseball fans in the country, we remain committed to our partners Altice and CDN who showcase the best of the MLB, celebrate the incredible performances of Dominican players in the league and entertain fans across the country.

“If Telemicro presents any additional claims without merit, we will continue to fight for the right of our fans to watch MLB games on television in the Dominican Republic.”
