Trump Dominican Rep. envoy nominee clears another hurdle

Washington.- The United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations approved the nomination of Robin Bernstein as ambassador to the Dominican Republic, a decision that will now be considered by the full House of the US Congress.

Bernstein was nominated by president Donald Trump in October 20. In making the announcement, the White House said that the businesswoman “has been a business leader for four decades, the Government and the non-profit communities of Florida.”

Currently, it added, she is co-founder of Palm Beach Country Cares, a Florida relief effort for the victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. “
