Immigration sweeps detain 551 foreigners from various countries

Santo Domingo.-  The Immigration Directorate detained 551 foreigners from several nations during sweeps in the last hours in San Pedro de Macoris and Puerto Plata provinces, as well as in different locations of Greater Santo Domingo.

The operations covered Los Conucos, Los Tanques and Guayacanes among other communities of the municipality of Juan Dolio, in San Pedro de Macorís, as well as Los Frailes, San Isidro and the municipality of Boca Chica.

In Puerto Plata, the operation included the La Soledad, La Crane, El Silencio, Los Charamicos, Cangrejo, La Union, Los Castillos, Monte Llano, Los Muñoz, La Estancia, Caraballo, and other locations in the Sosúa and Cabarete, located in that province.

Dozens of Immigration inspectors and agents participated in the operations, with the support of the Army and members of the Tourist Security (CESTUR), the National Police and of the Justice Ministry.
