Santo Domingo.- In the country there’s disrespect for all authorities, and National Police director Ney Bautista cites a recent case in San Francisco (northeast), where a driver punched a colonel in the face, “when he, together with other policemen present were trying to impose order for the community.”
“Those people were on the street and the police were taking them away because they prevented the free movement of the community. Then this guy comes from behind and hits the colonel. Anyone can hit another by stalking, but right there the other policemen who were there had to apply all the use of force, all police techniques, the proper use of the club,” he said.
“What do I see wrong? That the policemen who were there did nothing, and they are empowered to act, to use their billy clubs on that guy, but responsibly. That’s why all those who did not act like that are violating police regulations and have to pay. ”
That’s the reason why, according to Bautista, all the police officers who were present when that incident occurred against the colonel will be sanctioned.
