Tropical wave sparks flash flooding alerts

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) on Sun. heightened the flash floods and mudslide warnings for eight provinces.

San Cristóbal province and Greater Santo Domingo are under maximum alert, while Monseñor Nouel, Sánchez Ramírez, Hato Mayor, La Vega, Monte Plata and El Seibo are under moderate alert.

The COE said the alerts result from a tropical wave located in the eastern part of the country.
