Santo Domingo.- The National Weather Office (Onamet) on Mon. said that Isaac became a hurricane Sun. night and is currently located around 1,980 kilometers east of the Lesser Antilles.
Isaac’s maximum sustained winds are 120 kph, moving west at 20 kph.
The Onamet said Isaac maintains its projected path through the Central Caribbean on Thursday.
Helene
Meanwhile Hurricane Helene is located about 480 kilometers southwest of the Cape Verde Islands, moving west -northwest at about 28 kph, with maximum sustained winds of 140 kph.
