Govt. huddles to deal with tropical storm

Santo Domingo.- The Government on Tues. began to take safety measures to deal with the possible passage of Tropical Storm Isaac through Dominican territory during the weekend.

President Danilo Medina met with the heads of the relief agencies yesterday to coordinate a response and issue instructions.

In that regard Civil Defense director Rafael Carrasco, identified the most vulnerable areas of the provinces that the storm could affect in case it touches Dominican territory.

Yesterday Isaac lost strength with winds lowered from 120 kph to 110 kph, but the authorities caution that downpours will be intense.
