Jekyll & Hyde: Mild mannered ex-Prosecutor will ‘bust thugs’ heads’

Santo Domingo.- Presidential candidacy hopeful Francisco Dominguez on Tues. said the levels of crime are of concern and said if he becomes president promises a government that fights crime 24-7 with a firm hand and zero tolerance.

“The thugs need their head busted as I did as Procurator with the drug kingpins, replacing the impunity scheme with a regime of consequences that prevails,” said the usually staid former Justice Minister.

Quoted by Hoy, Dominguez said that during his time as Justice Minister he managed to cut homicides to 16.6 per 100,000 inhabitants, as well as indictments to over a dozen drug traffickers, since he has “never been afraid to make those who violate the law pay for it.”
