Samana, Dominican Republic.- Tourism minister Francisco Javier García on Thurs. announced the “total transformation” of the city’s entrance to showcase one of Dominican Republic’s greatest tourism potentials.

He said that president Danilo Medina approved the construction of a modern amphitheater for the area, “which will have nothing to envy” others in the country and the Caribbean.

García spoke at groundbreaking for the housing and hotel project Samana Bay to be built at a cost of US$100.0 million.

Investors’ spokesman Luis Pareja highlighted the residential and hotel project’s social and economic impact

He said the property features over 200,000 square meters of oceanfront.

“We are looking to the future and that is why we decided to build this project, which in its two phases will have 400 residences, a hotel, but also several plazas,” said Pareja.

He added that the project construction company respects the Environment Law and for each tree uprooted, five will be planted.
