Downpours drench much of the country to strengthen Thurs.

Santo Domingo.- The downpours drenching much of the country will intensify Wednesday and Thursday, especially in the afternoon and evening, from a trough and a tropical wave, the National Weather  Office (Onamet) forecast today.

It said the increase in cloud cover will be “significant” and that rains will fall over all regions, except the Northwest, from the trough “associated with a low pressure circulation in the medium and high levels of the troposphere, located over the national territory.”

Onamet adds that the trough and the humidity provided by the tropical wave will continue to generate downpours Thursday, which may be moderate to strong locally.
