Antinarcotics nabs nearly a ton of cocaine from Colombia

Santo Domingo.- Antinarcotics (DNCD)on Mon. seized 978 kilos of cocaine in containers brought from Colombia through Haina port, without reported arrests.

In a statement the DNCD said the anti-narcotics operation was carried out with specialized personnel, equipped with modern tools, in coordination with Justice Ministry officials, during a search of several containers at Haina port. “The substance was sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for the corresponding analysis, in order to determine if it is a drug and to establish its exact weight.”

“So far the investigations carried out establish that the containers would come from Colombia in the name of a company, so that the investigation widens to determine who are involved in the shipment of the alleged drug introduced into the country.”
