67.6% of Dominicans use the Web, poll says

Santo Domingo.- 67.6% of the Dominican population uses the internet. Of that figure, 71.0% belongs to urban areas.

According to the National Multipurpose Household Survey (Enhogar) 2017, the people of ages ranging from 25 to 44 years had the highest access, with 45%. 40.9% of children between 5 and 9 years old also use the Internet.

In the technological line the poll also found that 85.8% of respondents use cell phones, while 69.3% of the population has cell phones.

The age groups that own the most mobile phones are from 25 to 44 years old (90%), 45 to 64 (83.9%) and from 15 to 24, (76.5%).
