Gov. announces holiday ban on heavy vehicle traffic

Santo Domingo.- The National Land Transport Institute (INTRANT) on Mon. announce the ban on the traffic of heavy vehicles nationwide as of next Sunday 23, from 12 noon to Wed. 26, at 6am.

Similarly, from Sunday December 30, from 12 noon, until 6am Wednesday, January 2.

Moreover, the regulator restricted the maximum traffic speed to 80 kilometers per hour, and always using the left-most lane only to pass.

The INTRANT also prohibited more than two people riding on motorcycles, and will control the movement of passengers in the back of pickup trucks.

“To ensure the safe movement of citizens, INTRANT technicians carry out the Technical Vehicle Inspection in different routes of public transport stops for passengers, including moto-taxis.
