Dominican councilman poised to become NYC Ombudsman

New York.- The councilman for Upper Manhattan, the Dominican Ydanis Rodriguez, on Thurs. officially launched his candidacy to head New York City’s Office of the Ombudsman by submitting thousands of signatures.

He’s considered the favorite to win the post in the election set for February 26, attracting independents, Republicans, Democrats and others, won the strongest support from Hispanic voters among other ethnic groups in Manhattan, and to a lesser extent in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.

Rodriguez has achieved strong support for his nine years as an active councilman, most of them as president of the City Council’s Transportation Committee, legislating to benefit wide sectors among New Yorkers.

The Latino official said he works hard so people like him after arrive in the United States  can live the American dream.
