VP says the country isn’t ready for Medina’s reelection

Santo Domingo.- Vice president Margarita Cedeño on Tues. said the country is not prepared for a new constitutional reform, specifically to pave the way for president Danilo Medina’ reelection.

“I don’t believe that the country is prepared for a second constitutional reform only for the issue of re-election. I don’t think that’s a message that we should send as a party either,” she said.

“Danilo is a man who knows his role in history and is willing to respect the country’s institutions.”

Speaking in the inaugural of the National Business Council (CONEP) Board on Tuesday, Cedeño said leaders are obliged to allow others to arise, based their good work. “I think that this issue of re-election is because the generational change has yet to be prepared.”
