Dominican Republic Catholics flock to site of reverence

Higuey, Dominican Republic.- Tens thousands of Catholic faithful across the country today Monday, celebrate the traditional Our Lady of La Altagracia Day, considered the protective and spiritual mother of the Dominican people.

Thousands of devotees from different parts of the country flock to Higüey’s Basilica, in the eastern province that bears her name, to give thanks for her blessings and to ask for their wellbeing.
