Austria, Dominican Tourism forge a partnership

Santo Domingo.-  Dominican Republic’s Tourism Promotion Office (OPT) in Germany announced  Mon. that its designation as official partner country in Austria’s Ferien Messe Wien in Jan. 2020, where it seeks to continue consolidating that market of visitors.

The Tourism Ministry in a press release said the Ferien Messe Wien is Austria’s largest travel and holiday event, attended each year by around 850 exhibitors from more than 80 countries, including destinations and tourism businesses.

OPT Europe director Petra Cruz, who made the announcement in the presence of Dominican ambassador in Austria Lourdes Victoria-Kruse, said that thanks to the collaboration, the Dominican Republic will achieve greater visibility as a long distance destination within the Austrian market.

“We are very pleased to present the diversity of our country to the general public, placing in the foreground our varied offer in luxury, nature, golf and leisure.”

As the Ferien Messe Wien’s official partner country, the Dominican Republic will be in charge of organizing, among other tasks, the opening ceremony.
