The capital’s Malecon closed to ready for Carnival Parade

Santo Domingo.-  A stretch of the seaside avenue, Malecón, will be closed as of today to prepare for next Sunday’s National Carnival Parade 2019.

In a press release the Culture Ministry said starting 2pm Friday traffic will be closed from the “male” Obelisk to the Máximo Gómez Av. “to finalize the details of the preparations for the parade, dedicated to Puerto Plata,”

It adds that starting 6pm Saturday, it will extend the closure from the Obelisk to Lincoln Av., and will remain so until next Monday, 6am, March 4.
