Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.- The company Bio Investment Group on Thurs. broke ground for the 150- room hotel “Hampton by Hilton Punta Cana Airport and Commercial Center” to be built at a cost of RD$750 million (US$15 million).
In his keynote speech accompanied by president Danilo Medina, Bio Investment Group CEO Nigel La Chapelle said the three story building will feature 150 rooms; a construction area of 7,200 square meters; a 2,000 square meter commercial area with restaurants, offices and a Sky Bar with pool and a view of the airport.
He said the property that will provide 350 direct and indirect jobs will be the first Hilton Worldwide in Punta Cana. It will have meeting rooms and pools, and offer free round-trip transfers to Punta Cana International Airport.
“We decided to invest in the country attracted by President Medina’s vision of the future and his support for tourism development, which generates confidence in foreign investment,” La Chapelle said, quoted by local media
