Confirmed: US couple died after car plunged to the Caribbean

Santo Domingo.-DNA test in the US confirms identity of Portia Ravenelle

FILE.Teams from several agencies headed by the National Police comb the area where the car with a US couple ended up in the sea 19 kilometers on the highway east of the capital, nearly two weeks ago.

The authorities believe that Orlando Moore and Portia Ravenelle’s Kia rental car went off the road and fell in the water, based on information from area fishermen.

National Police spokesman Frank Duran said nearby security cams are being analyzed as part of the investigation.

The search is carried out after the discovery of two bodies that match the characteristics of the couple reported as missing two weeks ago.
