Dominican, Haiti mayors discuss ‘more than words’

Santo Domingo..-The Dominican Municipalities Federation (FEDOMU) and the National Haiti Mayors Federation (FENAMH) recently met to discuss issues on both sides of the border to plan for and develop relations between border municipalities.

This meeting is part of the project “Support for Territorial Governance for the Development of Sustainable Cities and Communities in the Dominican Republic,” funded by the AECID, held as part of the Enriquillo Region Municipalities Fair: “The South, more than words,” recently celebrated in Barahona.

Under the premise that the border represents a meeting point between two distinct countries, the event brought together several mayors from both sides of the border area and representatives from international agencies.
