Stock Market traded US$86B last year

Santo Domingo.- Securities superintendent, Gabriel Castro, revealed Wed. that the stock market has grown 16 percent this year and that currently more than 100,000 people participate in the market.

According to Castro, the stock market closed with transactions of about US$86 billion last year and today holds RD$1.3 billion in reserve.

He said that represented 61% of GDP at the end of last year,“ This means that the stock market will be the great developer of the country in the coming years.”

Castro added that the IPO by the dairy group Rica has already been approved, and there are already others that will be approved soon.
