Stationary trough; severe weather warning in effect

Santo Domingo. The National Weather Office (Onamet) on Monday forecast, continuing thunderstorms and wind gusts over all regions due to a trough.

It said severe weather warnings are in effect for Monte Plata, Elías Piña, Monseñor Noel, Santiago Rodríguez, Hato Mayor, Valverde, Sanchez Ramírez, San Cristóbal, Dajabón, San Pedro de Macorís, San Juan, Greater Santo Domingo, Santiago and La Vega provinces.

“The trough will continue to destabilize the weather conditions for Tuesday and Wednesday, dominating a panorama of frequent overcast with moderate to strong downpours, electrical storms and occasional gusts of wind over a large part of the Dominican territory,” Onamet said.
