Wife says David Ortiz’s condition improves to ‘good’

Boston.- The wife of David Ortiz on Tuesday his condition has improved as he continues to recover in a Boston hospital after he was shot in his native Santo Domingo, on June 9.

“This morning, David’s condition was improved to ‘good’ by his doctors and he continues to make progress in his recovery in the Intensive Care Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital,” said Tiffany Ortiz in a statement issued by the Red Sox.

She said her family continues being “grateful to all those who have helped David overcome this ordeal, both in the Dominican Republic and here in Boston. David’s journey to good health has been reinforced by the many expressions of love that have come to us from all over the world. Your support has uplifted his spirits tremendously during this difficult time. “
