22MW power plant goes natural gas in 2020

Santo Domingo.- The power company EGE Haina on Tues. announced an agreement with the State Electric Utility (CDEEE) to convert its 225 megawatt Quisqueya 2 power plant to natural gas as of next year.

EGE Haina general manager Luis Mejía Brache, stressed that the agreement is consistent with its corporate strategy of sustainable development.

“In the last decade EGE Haina has invested more than 400 million dollars in the development of four wind farms and one solar farm. And for the year 2030 we plan to install 1,000 new MW from renewable sources,” Mejia said in a statement
