Beware of protests, US embassy tells American citizens

Santo Domingo.- The US embassy in the Dominican Republic yesterday warned its citizens in the country of possible demonstrations in the capital, guiding them to avoid the areas surrounding Congress, the Supreme Court and other government buildings.

The US embassy recommends precaution as the country has entered the stage of selecting candidates for the presidential elections to be held on May 17, 2020, when protests and demonstrations are held across the country.

The warning calls on US citizens to “be alert and avoid the immediate area of ​​any protest.”
