Renewables reach 7% of national supply in first half

Santo Domingo.- The increase in renewable energy projects and their contribution to the National Grid (SENI) continues and for this a group of experts analyzed its perspectives and link to Dominican Republic development.

For that purpose the country’s power companies grouped in the ADIE and the Pontifical University (Pucmm) held a discussion on “Present and future of renewable energies, a look at the situation of these energies in the country and its projection towards the next years.”

The contribution of renewables continues to increase and maintains that in the first 6 months of 2019 its injection represented 7% of the energy served to the system with 5% for wind and 1% for biomass and also from the sun,” the ADIE said in a statement.
