Authorities bust ring that made, exported bogus drugs

Santo Domingo.- Dominican authorities on Fri. busted an international organization that manufactured and export adulterated drugs for human consumption.

Seven of its members, of Venezuelan nationality, were captured during simultaneous raids.

The National Police, Customs, the Prosecutor’s Office of Santo Domingo Este, carried out the raids, the Police said in a statement.

“The authorities seized adulterated medicines for a total amount of RD$16.2 million, a large amount of laboratory equipment, a large amount of chemicals and raw materials for the preparation of medicines.”
