Recall: Nissan Patrol, Frontier 2013-15 model years

Santo Domingo.- The National Consumer Protection Institute on Wed. issued two security risk alerts, the first for the Nissan Patrol Y61, and Nissan Frontier D22 models 2013-2015, “which present a damage to the passenger airbag, which implies a risk to the safety of their drivers.”

It said Santo Domingo Motors, official dealer of the Nissan brand in the country, notified that 201 affected vehicles, corresponding to 171 of the Nissan D22 model and 30 of the Patrol Y61 model imported with this damage in the Dominican Republic, but so far no incidents have been reported.

It said the affected vehicles feature propellant tablets in some of the passenger airbags, which may experience an alteration over time, which could lead to more aggressive combustion in the case of the airbag.

It called the owners of the vehicles to alert them to contact the dealership where they acquired it.
